Kishwauketoe, which is the Potawatomi Indian word for 'sparkling water,' is a 230-acre nature conservancy that includes prairie habitats, woodlots, kettles (glacier-caused depressions), a deciduous forest, and a trout stream. The majority of Kishwauketoe is classified as wetland, which means the water table is at or near the surface.
